Public Participation
The public may address the board one time per meeting for up to five minutes. Speakers are limited to individuals or businesses residing in the school district, parents, students and staff.
Please be advised that public participation at board meetings provides the opportunity for people to address the board. It is not a back and forth discussion between the board and the public. The board will take comments under advisement, but not necessarily comment or make a decision on the matter.
Speakers are asked to be respectful of board members and others at the meeting. The board president reserves the right to end public comments if he or she determines it necessary.
Any person or group wishing to place an item on the agenda must register their intent with the superintendent no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting.
The intent to address the board must include: name and address, group affiliation (if appropriate), and the topic to be addressed.
Requests are subject to the approval of the superintendent and the board president. The Board shall provide for public participation at every regular meeting of the board. Regular meetings are scheduled annually at the board’s January organizational meeting.
